ALPHINE KNEE BRACE PROD

If you’ve ridden any form of off-road, MX, or enduro you’ll know of the horrendous pain and misery a knee injury can cause? A sharp twist around the ol’ patella region can have you limping around like Wayne Rooney after a heavy tackle, for months.

But if you’d bought these professional and highly technical knee braces from Alpinestars you’d probably avoided that sort of injury. They’re designed to prevent twisting forces in the wrong direction, obviously, and come in M, L, and XL, to fit all sizes and width of knee, and they’re also made to fit the left or right leg, so you’ll have to buy two for full protection. Still, it’s cheaper than an operation.

Price: R2,500 each.

WB PIPE PROD

The BMW S1000RR is already an evil beast of a thing without adding anything to the performance pot, but we’re sure, if you own such bike, that you’ll be interested in this little beauty?

It’s a slip-on replacement silencer, well sort of, because it most certainly won’t be quiet due to the ‘huge hole’ through the center. Anyway, it’s made from uber-light carbon fibre so you’ll save some serious weight over the heavy stock stainless-steel affair. But the main point is that it’s half the length of the stock silencer, so it’ll look as mean as a scrap yard dog. And even a rabid Doberman with limited tools should be able to fit it.

Price: R6,500

Go to www.langstonmotorsports.co.za to find your local dealer. Also visit www.twobros.com for their exciting full range of exhausts

Yamaha speakersIf you tend to get ‘hammered’ around the pool, like most of us, whilst making a braai, then you’ll most certainly need one of these, or maybe two?

These Yamaha speakers are portable, and more importantly, they look so damn cool. They have mains power connectivity or you can stuff them with batteries, so you’ll always have power to produce a truly gorgeous sound.

The black one (PDX-11B) has Bluetooth, so you’ll be able to aimlessly walk around in a trance while your phone, i-pod, etc, is lost somewhere else. It can also be used to totally irritate the neighbours, because you’ll be able to throw it over the wall whilst playing something like Korn at 2am, bwarrha ha, ha…  The better-looking yellow version is identical but has the normal ‘docking’ facility instead, both PDXs play CDs as well. Go on, you know you want one?

Price: PDX-11B R1,850 or PDX-11 R1,450

Yamaha Pro 500 headphones

There’s no better way to listen to your favourite music than through a set of headphones, and these are possibly the best money can buy.

Yamaha are world leaders in the music industry so they know a thing or five about absolute quality audio reproduction. The Pro 500’s are made from a substantial metal alloy, and they have an in-line remote microphone to make volume adjustments simple.

But never mind that, we’ve actually listened to these and amazing, astonishing and jaw dropping are words you’ll need to describe what comes through them. It’s just like putting a nightclub on your head and then some! Ignore the price, it means nothing if you desire the best, right? And you’ll be able to isolate yourself from moaning families, which is nice.

Price: R3,850   Call: Centurion Yamaha (012 661 6216) or immediately go to www.centurionyamaha.co.za for more Yamaha products.
