The Cayenne Group has chalked up yet another exciting, blue chip brand for South African motorcycle enthusiasts. Gracing Cayenne’s showrooms countrywide are the hugely popular Johnny Pag Custom built Choppers are already a talking point in the local motorcycle community.
“The new USA-built Johnny Pag machines, are the most affordable custom-built choppers available here we are initially featuring two models in their range, the Ventura and the Malibu” said Cayenne Group’s Craig Langton.
The Malibu, a Softail chopper, and the Ventura Hardtail, will both retail for R 39 900 including VAT. “We could well extend this range later on with additional models”, said Langton. “Right now our sales team and dealers are delighted by the initial response from the market, and we are asking customers to reserve their Johnny Pags as only limited stock is available from our first shipment”.
The Johnny Pag Motor Company is leading the charge in this next generation of production motorcycle choppers. Its founder, Johnny Pag Jnr was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, but got his first taste of real freedom at the age of 14, when his family relocated to sunny California. It was here that he rode his first Harley Davidson and immediately fell in love with motorcycles.
In 1995, while working for Biker's Dream in the Orange County, CA, he watched his father custom-build choppers for countless celebrities, professional athletes and musicians. Paying his dues and starting from the ground up, Johnny packed parts in the warehouse, swept floors and cleaned tools. Over time he became more involved with the custom-building process by working as an apprentice for his father and assisting with limited edition production bikes and one-off high-end custom projects.
From its early days, when Johnny Pag customs choppers were only for affluent customers, the company, under the vision and guidance of Pag Jnr, began to develop its brand scope and to embrace the ideal of “Value", "Bang for the buck", and "A seat for every rider". Today, these themes resonate throughout the company’s operations, reflecting Pag Jnr’s passion to increase the number of riders on the road enjoying his affordable, high quality, custom-production motorcycles. His steadfast production development and design has resulted in rapid growth, and the Johnny Pag Motor Company brand is now selling in over 15 countries.
The first two models available from Cayenne (the Malibu and the Ventura), are both powered by the proven USA built Johnny Pag liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine. Unlike other ‘parallel twins’, the Pag motor is virtually vibration-free, features a 5-Speed gearbox and electric start.
The two models differ in looks and styling only.
