New from Hyosung and just arrived at the Cayenne dealer’s country wide is the ultimate lightweight sports motorcycle the Hyosung X-5 250, claimed to be the ultimate 250 for its outstanding styling, features, performance and handling.
The X-5 really turned heads when launched mid-November in Korea and the same month at the Milan show in Italy.
In its debut on the track at the KKRRC (Korea Road Race Championship) held at the Yeongam F1 National Stadium the new Hyosung X-5 piloted by Jeong took 1st place in the 250 class. The KKRRC is the only national large displacement motorcycle race in the country. More importantly it was a first ever win in Korea for a domestic motorcycle on its first time out.
It was launched the same month at Italy’s Milan show and was well received by both motorcycles dealers and riders from all over Europe which resulted in orders streaming in for the new dynamic, futuristic naked X-5 250.
Large orders followed immediately from all over the world, from Japan, Dubai, South America, Oceania and Asia. “When we first saw the new X-5 what grabbed us all was the race styling and features, we know this is what sells this new and very appealing 250, along with its great race styling and performance, the Hyosung X5 looks fast just standing still on the show room floor,” said Cayenne’s dealer Principal Craig Langton.
The X-5 is an exciting unit to ride due to its superb handling, compact size and its lightweight construction, along with its unusual centre of gravity, due to the engine and electrics being mounted near to the steering head.
The exhaust system also adds to the great balance and handling and is positioned well below the swingarm pivot.
The X-5 is the ultimate compact single with all the components, fitting in well with a sleek chassis, making it extremely manoeuvrable and really fun to ride.
Its steel tubular trellis frame is designed to connect directly between the steering head and the pivot and its compact size reduces weight while enhancing the rigidity of the frame.
The X-5 Is equipped with a long 553mm swing arm, coupled with the short 1346mm wheelbase, these features combine to provide a dynamic steering characteristic working well with the X-5’s superior suspension.
For motor cycle beginners the X-5 ride experience will grow and mature their confidence, for experience motorcyclists the X-5 offers the sport race riding sensation. Tests show it to be the ultimate when it comes to economical commuting.
Its power plant is a liquid cooled, DOHC, 4 valve, single cylinder, maximum power is 21.2 Kw (28.4 HP) @ 8500 rpm and maximum torque 26.1Nm @ 7000RPM.
It has all the latest features, fuel injection, 6 speed gear box, twin discs with 4 piston caliper on the front and 2 piston caliper on the rear, upside down front suspension, dual side aluminium swing arm with a stunning looking gas charged hydraulic rear mono shock which is pre load adjustable.
