Honda has recently decided to work with their race division, HRC, and released this competition aimed CRF450RX Rally Replica. It was bound to happen after their recent results in Rally racing territory.
It’s riddled with high-end components, including, a Rally Tower to hold the multitude of navigation systems, factory Showa Rally designed suspension, 36-litres of fuel capacity (two tanks at the front and one at the rear), Akrapovic exhaust, and a wealth of HRC Rally racing knowledge – like the sealed air-box that contains all of the electrics to keep away unwanted contamination.
The frame, and engine, is loosely based on their CRF450RX with a revised gearbox for higher and constant Rally-like top speeds. There’re no power claims yet but we’d imagine it’d be well north of 70hp.
This very special and hand-built bike will only be available in Europe, for now, but ‘we’ in South Africa always find a way to acquire such machines. The only issue we can foresee is an estimated price of around R700-800k – ouch!
